The videos below are intended for new skippers to radio sailing and in particular to the Dragon Flite 95 Class of radio yachts. The basic items covered will apply to other classes of Radio Yachts


Like all thinds the more you pratice the better you will get. The Videos below are broken down into the following :


SETTING UP THE ELECTRONICS


ALWAYS ENSURE YOU INSTALL THE CLUGS ITO THE RECIEVER (RX) THE CORRECT WAY ...... Otherwise you will blow your electronics in all probability !!

SETUP CHECKLIST / TUNING

FOLLOW CHECKLIST IN THIS ORDER


  1. Ensure the Rudder is perfectly aligned with the keel.
  2. Ensure your Forestay tension is correct for the wind strength. Loosen or tighten with the backstay.
  3. Adjust the Jib Tack adjustment so that Luff creases are just removed
  4. Set the sheeting angle of the Mainsail
  5. Set the sheeting angle of the Jib - typically 3 fingers.
  6. Adjust the amount of twist on the Mainsail for the given wind conditions
  7. Adjust the Jib Leach Line bowsie to ensure the Jib Slot to the mainsail twist is the same.
  8. Ensure the Hatch is taped down and the battery is installed.
  9. Switch on the TX first and then the boat.
  10. Ensure the rudder throw is correct and it returns to center.
  11. Launch your boat.
